  1. I know I've mentioned this before but it's becoming are very common theme when giving my clients copies of emails. Could the default 'native' export option for Intella be changed to .msg rather than .eml? Or at the very least an option to export to .msg? .msg would seem to be a more compatible format considering the majority of people in the corporate world use Outlook.

ahhhh you clever man The emails are indeed showing as flagged under the features facet, I had not explored fully as I was expecting the 'tick' to be in the little flag box visually. Thanks Lukasz, all is working correctly, this was a PICNIC error

Great news about the permissions With regards to the flagging I understand about the flags will only present to the user that made them, however there may be a glitch as I'm definitely not seeing the flags via TEAM. TEAM 1.7.2 and Connect 1.7.2 are the versions, I even created some tags via connect on the same case and double checked to make sure and they were not visible in TEAM after creation. I can't be sure but I think this case was originally created in an earlier version of TEAM then updated, is it possible that this is causing some sort of conflict or glitch?
  4. Hi Lukasz I have been pushing Connect quite heavily to my clients and giving lots of demo's and redaction has been top of the list for functionality requests from most of them. While I would never want to have only a fully automated process, as you've rightly pointed out text in pictures can easily be missed, however as many of my clients are lawyers there are times when having the ability for some automated processes would be extremely valuable. For example redacting witness statements to remove protected witnesses names/address/phone numbers etc. Many LPP matters contain privileged data which can be chemical formula's and the like which hold no evidentry value and would need to be removed. There will always be a manual inspection of course to check pictures/tables and other area's which may not be covered, but automating what can be automated would be a fantastic addition with the normal redaction. Couple that with the ability to use the keyword list and you have a great way to very quickly redact large data sets. I'm not sure what the plan on the redaction implementation is but I think it would be a good idea to make the redaction a two step process, ie the first stage of redaction simply highlights the text you want to redact (be it from automated or manual) with a bright yellow background or something, then you have the option to review prior to committing the redaction, or you can choose to apply without review.

Good afternoon, I have a couple of thoughts with regards to Connect which I wanted to share. 1 - Flagging is not transposing to Intella from Connect. By this I mean if my client logs in using Connect and rather than Tag items decides to Flag them instead, this work is not reflected in Intella when I log in. I can see items have been flagged via the activity screen for Connect and if I log in via Connect using my clients credentials I can see the items which have been Flagged. In this instance while logged in as my client I just sorted by Flagged items then Tagged them all. Once back in Intella I could see my newly created Tag and then just export the items as needed, so I have a quick work around but I would still love to see Flagged items reflected in Intella. 2 - Bandwidth control by limiting or stopping download / print of items. I'm not sure how hard something like this would be to implement but if we could (on a case by case or user by user, which ever is easiest to implement) have some granular control over what they can do. My main concern is that one of my clients might decide to just print out all 200,000 emails and conduct a paper review or even just save/print off a large amount of emails. It would be great to be able to say limit them to review only (tag/flag etc) and have no option to print or download the original.
  6. Hi Intella So after a nice long break for Xmas etc I find myself back in the thick of things and have a suggestion to add to the list. When viewing the created tags there is a small + next to the tag which when clicked on shows the user that created said tag, which works beautifully when you have multiple users tagging with Connect etc, however if you have 1000 or more tags created and you have to collate some sort of list of who created each tag, this is quite a labor intensive operation. Would it be possible to have an 'expand/contract all' option at the top of the tags so we can quickly expose all this information in the first instance, and following that the ability to export to an excel or CSV this information would be an added bonus.
  7. Thanks for the links, I've not had the pleasure of Eudora data yet but may have some soon so timely advice indeed
  8. I couldn't see Eudora mentioned specifically anywhere but I'm assuming that Intella can deal with mail from this client?
  9. Looks great and I like the work flow. I would also echo jcoynes comment about having a search and "replace all" option for the redact set. Great way to quickly remove a set of data, perhaps the ability to integrate that with a keyword list to redact multiple words/phrases easily and quickly.
  10. HI Lukasz, I'm talking about Intella itself rather than connect, is this different?
  11. I'm not seeing inline images show up with the new html email preview tab. The image border is there and just a grey X shows in the middle of the box. Is there something I have to enable/install for this to work?
  12. No hijack needed PF1, I started this thread hoping anyone would post their thoughts/suggestions here so the Intella folks would have less places to look for our feedback
  13. Hi Primoz I'm thinking Connect might be the way for me to go here too, I'll just have to be a bit creative when selling that option to my clients. The current basic ACL is good with the authorizations of certain users to certain cases, I'm looking forward to the further controls as they come.
  14. Hi Chris, I noticed the new email address filters, and the dynamic 'live' filter search option down the bottom which is brilliant, love it! Something I'd requested previously was the option to export selected emails in an HTML format where the body of the emails could be optionally exposed, possibly by some sort of 'expand body' option for each individual email, then also with a master 'expand all' button at the top as well. The reason for this is search-ability. I can export emails as a single PDF file now and achieve that ability to search across the body, but one long PDF of 10,000 plus emails is not ideal and can cause issues trying to open such a large PDF file. Currently the only way to search across the body of exported emails (apart from PDF), is to either open each email individually and then search, which is not a workable solution, or have me export the emails to a PST, which they can then import to Outlook then use Outlook's own search functions. The PST option is fine to a degree but it doesn't protect the integrity of the emails once they have been imported and can cause issues if relied on for court or any disciplinary hearings and the like. The only other option I can think of is some sort of 'bastardization' of the viewer concept you already have, whereby we can create an Intella load file with the emails for our client which they can then view via a special customer version of the Intella viewer software which allows nothing more than keyword, tag and export options. The Intella load file being proprietory so the clients couldn't use the viewer software to conduct their own email analysis. Cellebrite have a similar type of software that is free to use so we can create a UFED dump of a phone then give that dump to a client with the viewer software and they can then view the phone data in a GUI almost identical to the full suite but with limited options. This may not really be on the road map for Intella but I would really like to see something that gives our clients the ability to search effectively across any reduced data set we give them, even if this comes at a small cost, ultimately I think it will be worth it if we can add significant value to the end product for our clients.
  15. Hi Igor That's interesting as I've always associated .msg with Outlook and .eml with Outlook Express/Windows Mail/Thunderbird etc. Certainly for our clients and ourselves the .msg format is easier to use as Outlook can't natively open .eml files without a hotfix. While this is no issue for us some of our clients are having issues and it means their own IT guys have to make changes to individual PC's that are part of a corporate SOE, and we all know how much they loooooove to do that If an option to export to .msg could be incorporated it would be greatly appreciated.
  16. Auto start and auto share of select cases would be a great addition to Connect. In the case of a power blackout or Windows brain fart or software update where the computer will need to be rebooted it would be great to have Connect automatically start with Windows and then have the ability to auto share select cases. I can set the Connect.exe in the startup folder for Windows but I think it would be smoother to have a 'start with Windows' option within Connect. And take this one step further would it be possible for this to happen regardless of whether a user account is currently logged in or not? Currently my machine will reboot but not auto log in, Team viewer seems to be able to function in this state as I can remote in to the welcome screen and remotely log in if need be. I know I can set the computer to auto log in as well but I'm just curious to see if Connect can function regardless of the account being logged in.
  17. Is there any way to have emails exported as .msg? Is .eml 'original format' for exchange? I was thinking .msg would be the norm.
  18. Excellent news, thanks Lukasz With regards to the printing issues they were having I couldn't replicate this on my own browser so I'm unsure if it was local printer settings or something else, but either way thought I'd pass on the request. I look forward to the updates
  19. Hi Lukasz, a quick bit of user feedback from my client, they have suggested an integrated print button within Intella, allowing them to print emails or documents that are being previewed. I know they can print from within the web browser, but I think they were having some issues with Chrome splitting the email body over two sheets and they couldn't seem to rectify this. I'm not sure how difficult it is to integrate this type of functionality, but if it could be done it would simplify matters somewhat.
  20. Also below, any likelihood of changes/updates in the near future? My lawyer clients absolutely love timeline graphics for court and if I can give them a pretty picture with click-able links they just may crown me their undisputed emperor On a more basic level it would be great if we could change the size of different columns in the timeline which would allow the full email address to be exposed prior to creating a graphic. Currently email addresses which also have a known name or nick name next to them are truncated and not shown in the export picture.
  21. Any update on my below wish from late last year? I find myself doing this constantly and losing my place
  22. Hi Lukasz, I can see terminology might make this tricky for me to explain, but I think you are understanding me mostly. 1 - Allocating the work load might be easiest done on a volume basis, either equally amongst all reviewers or with the ability to dictate specific percentages to each reviewer individually. That should avoid the conflicts you are describing in point 3 above. 2 - I think I explained badly my 'manager', 'reviewer' concept. Lets say that I as the admin on my local Connect server set up a case for client A. Client A tell me they have 3 staff they want to authorise to remotely connect to my server to review the data, one senior and two juniors, with the senior having responsibility for their overall review. So I set up the case on my Connect server and create 3 users, call them Senior and Junior A & B. I then set the Senior user with elevated privileges (not to be confused with a Connect admin who can see all cases and make server changes), this elevated privilege level applies only to the case which I (the admin) have authorised him for. I set the Junior reviewers to normal level. Now at this point in time although I have created and authorised 3 users for Client A, only the Senior user can currently log in and access the data, if the Juniors try and log in they get an error message saying they have no allocated content for review (or something similar). When the Senior logs in he can see a 'case manager' screen which shows him who his other authorised users are and in this screen he can set up who will review what based on percentage of total case data. Once he allocates a percentage to Junior A&B and sets them active they can log in and begin reviewing their data. The Senior can choose a percentage for himself or not as he sees fit. The senior can also see some basic stats on his log in screen such as his reviewers, their percentage of data for review and their progress. This all takes place remotely and is completely separate to my local administration of the Connect server, the Senior and Juniors would only see the case I had authorised them to see.
  23. You can do this now Hagrid, I just had a quick look at 1.7.1 and under the date/time facet you can filter the date range, days of the week and then down to the time, and then there are tick boxes for sent, received etc.
  24. I love the expandable panel idea for the email threads. We are already 'trained' by many other software programs to understand and view data this way so it should be easy to use for the end user. Spot on, it's ACL issue (assuming that stands for Access Control Limitation?). I can think of some other granular controls that would be fantastic to implement, of course I have no idea how hard or easy they may be but I can but ask Something I've been thinking on but am having trouble articulating, if we could assign a 'manager' user to a particular case, then set other users with access to 'worker'. When the manager logs into the connect he would have some extra options available which would allow him to see how many 'workers' have access to this case, then he could assign certain data to each worker for review. Each worker can only see the data set that the manager has set for his review. The manager would also have some basic audit functions available such as progress of his workers and he would also be able to see any items that have been tagged etc. I can then simply load up a case with all the data, assign the users with access and give them the appropriate level, the manager then decides which of his staff review what, and he can control and monitor the workflow on his end. I would still deal with any technical issues on the server end, and then at the conclusion export and report. I'm obviously thinking of Relativity and tools like that when I think of this, but I'm trying to look at a simplified type of set up which would take the more useful functions and leave behind all the other 'noise' that these programs have which I think is more glitz than anything.
