  1. I'm running a number of keyword searches at the moment and just noticed that the path name is also reflected in results for responsive documents. By this I mean I search for the keyword 'pyramid' across all documents and emails, and document/emails which contain the word pyramid in the file path (as shown under the 'Location' field in the 'Properties' tab) The document itself had no hits for the keyword, yet it was still showing in results due to the path naming conventions. It may be relevant under some circumstances where people are trying to locate folder names, however as a default search behavour I think this gives off too many false positives to be of value. If the search could have the option to include/exclude path details and other irrelevant data from the hit results I think this would be a more workable solution.
  2. Currently from Connect if we right click on an item and select 'remove tag' we are presented with a list showing the entire tag set with no indication which tags are actually currently applied to the item, and further no 'select all' option. In a case where we have 100's of tags and you want to remove all tags from a single item this could be time consuming. I would propose a double change to this 'remove tags' menu, firstly the menu should only display tags which are actually applied to the item/s selected, secondly a 'select all' option to allow quick select/deselect of all tags.
  3. When previewing certain document types there is no contents tab, specifically for Calendar invite acceptance type emails. For these items there is no way to see any current tags that might be applied to the item directly from the preview window, you must first press 'tag' then scroll through the list to find the ticks in boxes. If there was a 'tags' tab that appeared on items that had tags then this could be a very easy way to manage existing tags on any given item. I'm picturing a tags tab that only shows tags that are currently applied to the given document, and one step further these tags have tick boxes next to them so if you choose you can select and remove some/all of the tags right from there if you wish.
  4. Also building on this just simply from an ease of use point of view the ability to hide tags from view would assist when the tag list becomes so large as to be unweildy. Point in case for me, I have a very large long running matter which has been evolving over some months with numerous 'pre batched' search tags that I have created for the review team to go through. On top of about 20 or so of them there is about 50 sets of tags the client created on the first review, then another 50 different tags they created on a second run. A few more pre review batches that I did up for them and now a few more post review tags they have created. The end result is the tag facet is a mess and it's quite difficult to find the tags they are looking for. The parent/child relationship allows some cleaning up, however more flexibility here would be fantastic. The ability to click and drag any tag to any new location would be perfect. That way we could create a parent tag and then drag all the other tags under that group. This way when viewing the tag facet list all we would have to do is collapse a couple of parent tags and the old tags are nicely hidden from view but not lost. Even better (and hopefully easier) would be a simple option to hide certain tags, with maybe a new parent tag that appears at the top of the tag list "Hidden Tags" so it's clear some tags are hidden from view, then the reviewer could if they chose view the hidden tags by expanding that list, otherwise they stay collapsed by default. At the moment I can accomplish this by creating the new parent tag, then duplicating all the child tag names within that new parent tag, retagging all the old items with the new child tag, then deleting the original tags. A bit unelegant and also leaves too much room for human error. Edit: also I note that if I collapse the expanded tags via Connect the next time I log in they are expanded again, if possible having this setting remembered would help here as well.
  5. Purely a cosmetic thought, but if we had the ability to rearrange existing tags with a drag and drop type effect. Example, we have a parent tag A, and 5 child tags 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. Then we have parent tag Z with child tags, a, b, c, d and e. For some reason we want to shift tag 'e' from parent Z to parent A, if we could simply click, hold and drag to the new parent group it's done. Currently we'd have to search, highlight, delete old tag, then apply new tag, which is not too onerous to be fair but the click and drag would be a sexy addition if it's possible. Edit : further to this another minor change that could be very beneficial, when right clicking on an existing tag to create a new child tag, after typing the tag name hitting 'enter' has no effect, we instead need to use the mouse to click on OK. I'm going through a case now with hundreds of tags and having to manually create a new tag structure, so this simple act of having 'enter' act the same as clicking OK would save mucho time
  6. This may seem a little counter intuitive at first glance, but along with the ability to hide privileged tags/data, sometimes it would be handy to hide the tags themselves without actually hiding the content they apply to. I'm thinking of some restrictions that could be placed on reviewer types. For example, I have created a reviewer level called 'restricted' which can't print or download, can't delete tags from other users, can only participate in the review and can't see items tagged 'priveleged'. Some other permissions I'd love to see in the list of choices are: can't see tags from other users (no content is hidden, only the tags) can't create tags can't see activity of other users can't create export packages can't import keyword/md5/doc ID lists This would be perfect for when my clients need to give access to the data to another law firm but want their own work product (activity, tags etc) hidden, but not restricting access to the overall content.

    Wish list

The ability to import OCRd documents via the Connect menu while the case is under review, thus eliminating the current down time needed when importing via TEAM.
  8. This is something I'm often asked by clients and I know that to a degree it would be possible but would be curious to hear thoughts from Intella people. With the paragraph analysis capability how accurately can Intella show the conversation threads for emails? If this has a high degree of accuracy then a natural thought would be to have the ability to hide all emails that make up the thread apart from the last email in the chain, another little slide button next to the dedupe would be the obvious place. I'm sure there are pitfalls to this approach which is why I'm curious if something like this would be possible or on the radar. I can forsee issues where people forward the chain elswhere and essentially start a new chain, but with some sort of threshold for the matching data I think it would be possible to get a useful way of knocking out the interim emails. This would be useful in identifying very near duplicates that can occur when the message hash is different on two emails which actually contain identical text in the body.
  9. Just curious as to what circumstances would cause this to happen? I'm logged into a case via Team, I'm looking at tags I created, both parent and child, but when I right click on any tag to try and rename the option to edit is greyed out. I've never seen that before so not sure where to go really. Edit : aaaand disregard, close and restart case and problem solved....weird.
  10. Just highlighting this wish again as I'm currently in the process of removing all the duplicate tags from an auto tag operation

    Wish list

Another quick hopefully easy wish. When viewing the Activities tab within Connect it would be handy if we filter to show activities of specific users as well as all users.
  12. Cancelling an indexing process seems to take a long time. I'm not sure if this is something that can be avoided but in some situations maybe it could be sped up.. I started to index a case a short time ago and cancelled the process almost instantly, it had only detected a single folder and had not processed any content. So far the cancelling process has taken 30 mins and it's only at stage 8 of 10, where as I've had entire indexing processes of 3 or 4 GB complete in a similar amount of time. Edit: just as a point of interest this entire process took 1 hr 20 mins. I understand the database is a complicated beast so this is more to make you aware of this in the hope that the ability to stop can be improved, or even better the ability to pause an indexing process and resume it at a later stage.
  13. There seems to be an issue with exporting the tag list to CSV from 1.9 The parent tag gets exported but none of the children do. Edit : sorry for complete lack of details there was rushing into a meeting. I'm referring to when you select tags in the facet menu the right click, export to CSV so you get a spread sheet listing all the tags and the responsive numbers.
  14. I'm removing tags from items via the Connect web interface and this appears to be incredibly slow when compared to the process through the normal GUI for Intella. By way of example I'm currently removing 1 tag from 15,000 items, after 10 minutes only 66 of 15,000 have been removed. This is the first time I've tried this process via Connect so I can't say if it's a one off or the norm. There is no cancel button, but what would happen if I killed the Connect server all together while this process was happening? Judging by the speed that it's going it will take a few days to remove the tags I need to remove and I can't let it sit that long.
  15. It was just a thought, but fully agree by no means an important one, and you are correct it renders just fine on the iPad.
  16. I'm not sure of the exact ins and outs of this but my IT department have forwarded all requests on port 443 and 9999 to my Connect server based on it's internal IP address. This way if my clients are having issues with firewalls blocking port 9999 (which is relatively common) they can still connect without having to manually enter any port number (https://www.address.here) will always default to port 443 without the need to enter it and I haven't come across a corporate firewall that blocks 443 yet. See this thread for instructions on how to change the default Connect port http://community.vound-software.com/index.php?/topic/215-intella-connect-change-the-default-port-9999/
  17. Any plans on developing a mobile app for Connect or making the web page GUI mobile friendly when it detects a mobile device connecting? Not so much for review because I think that would be difficult to achieve on an iPad or iPhone, but more like an app to log in to the admin dashboard and access those settings.
  18. Not sure if this is something that has always happened or if a default setting has changed somewhere. Using 1.9 connect search is not picking up parts of a word, ie the search term of 'help' will not pick up the text 'helpmerhonda'
  19. Okay, now I'm going to have to call myself a liar because auto detect hasn't detected a case that I put on to the server last night. Is there a way to refresh or change the detect interval? FYI deleting and retyping the path to the shared folder in the settings forced a refresh and the case was detected, so it's clearly something different here.
  20. Thanks Lukasz, the ones that were causing me issues were actually caused by the actual case data being one directory further down. Once I moved the case data up a level they were detected.
  21. I have noticed that the auto case monitor folder does not function as you would expect. Connect is not picking up cases in this folder automatically, they still have to be manually added, however if I try to remove the case from the active list in the case window I get an error message saying that I can't remove it because it's in the monitored folder.
  22. Regarding the use of the remote processors, it would seem that the Evidence, Case and Optimization folders must all reside on the remote processing machine (which makes sense), however one of the things I was hoping/looking for with this client/server type relationship was that once the processing has finished, the remote machine is no longer needed and can be turned off/rebooted etc as needed for other processes. If the case data file resides on the remote machine then it's necessary to have this machine accessible while the Connect case is being reviewed. What about the ability to have the case data folder remain local on the Server, with the evidence and optimization folder on the processor (or optimize folder local if that is more effective)? I know there would be a time hit here as the files would need to be pushed across the network, but the end result would be all case data on the Server hosting Connect, that way the other machines aren't tied up for the duration of the review. Currently I generally manually transfer the case data folder to the Connect machine and then edit the source paths to point back to the original machine just in case a reindex is needed.
  23. Okay the updated 1.9 installer did the trick and I can now index with remote processors, very smooth easy to follow and nice and fast. Also fantastic to see the addition of Item ID and MD5 list imports, thank you muchly!! I have some comments/suggestions/questions and knowing me there will be more but just some initial thoughts. What is 'irrelevant' according to the option to hide irrelevant next to the new dedupe button? By that I mean what are the criteria and can we manually add files to this ourselves? Custodian's are a great addition, it would be great if we could 'edit' the custodian names just like tags in case of a spelling error. Adding the custodian is very fast, takes a few seconds, but deleting a custodian is very slow, takes around 10 mins. What are: 'Import ID', 'Native ID' and 'Export ID'? What is the Family Date and Primary Date, and what is their relationship? The Dashboard has some warnings about encrypted or exception items, would be fantastic if they also acted as a direct link to go to the items in question. I notice double click has been added to Intella, is this possible to implement in Connect as well? Thats all for now, I'm sure I'll have more.
  24. I think the IP address it was detecting was one tied in with VMware, entering the actual IP address of the machine was all I needed to do here. Understood about the shared folders. Opening the browswer incognito worked, so clearly a cache issue. I'm attempting to index a new case using a remote processor and having a minor issue with an error field being blank, makes it hard to know what I messed up I have the evidence on the Processor and have set the case folder and optimization folder both to the Connect server, everything goes fine and I select all the indexing options I want, then when it comes time to index the data and I have the choice of selecting the Connect Server or remote processor to index the data, if I select the remote machine I get a blank red error window pop up. Indexing with the Connect server works just fine. On checking the warning log the last entries are all
  25. Possible bug here as the option to create a new case appears to be missing, I can only find 'add an existing case'. I have managed to find and add the remote processor successfully (firewall needed to be configured on both machines) and i have added the shared folders successfully.
