How to search for monetary amounts containing $ without being seen as wildcard

Trying to search for the monetary amounts in text  eg"$15" Obviously the "$" is seen as a wildcard and produces significant volumes of false positive results.

Prefixing it with a space

" $15"

doesn't change results

 

Any suggestions?

Hi,

If you want to search for specific amounts with dollar signs (and commas if required), you should use a regular expression. Regular expressions will find the text that you see in the Contents tab including symbols and non alphabet/numeral characters. 

The regular expression assistant has an area where you can enter the text that you want to search for, so that lets you test out the regular expression that you are creating.
