  1. I'd tried the above, but couldn't get it to work correctly, I'll have a look later on, as I need the get the data processed as the client is waiting for the go ahead to start working.
  2. Any thoughts on how to get the Connect exe to run at startup, so if the machine reboots due to updates, the connect service will start in the background? I've spent time looking into this and Win10 does not allow applications to run with admin privileges at startup, I've tried a few things that are suggested online such as creating it as a task using task scheduler, but am unable to get it to work. Nothing seems to happen at startup, so its a manual start for the time being.
  3. It was the firewall on the hub, it was set to block all traffic that was not out going, I added the port I wanted and the machine, and all is good. Only issue I've got now is getting Connect to start when I start the PC, otherwise I think were ready to go.
  4. ignore, was the router firewall, new installation meant new machine name so all ports were blocked, enabled on the router and I can now see the server. now to get https up and running again! the fun bit!
  5. has anyone installed onto Win 10 Pro? I've got a connect box, but wanted to install the latest versions and update the OS, so bought a new SSD and installed 10. I've installed connect, and can start as service, changed the port within the sys file, allowed the connection through the firewall, but still can't get to the server via the internet. I can ping the box remotely, that's fine. Thoughts? Or should I go back to 7, which I still have the SSD, and can restore to the new drive if needed (wanted to keep the original as a backup, as I know that works).
  6. theres a problem between the two dongles interacting, I think the EnCase dongle is VERY old - I've been in here 7 years and have used the same dongle in all that time. I'm going to try an get another dongle from them, hopefully a newer one so I can use both applications.

Installed onto my Windows 10 workstation, and it 'broke' EnCase - uninstalling intella and EnCase, and re-installing intella only then allows me to use EnCase again - Sentinel dongle problem - EnCase does not see its dongles when intella is installed. I've spoken to Guidance Software about the issue and they are going to have to do some testing, my own testing concludes that Intella is the software causing the issue. I've tried installing EnCase first, then Intella, Intella first then EnCase, but as soon as intella is installed EnCase can no longer see the dongles. Thoughts?
  8. The time has come to update the SSL Certificate on the server, I'm no geek when it comes to this kind of thing, but I know my way around most things. I'm struggling to get the SSL Certificates updated on the server, so I am having to get the clients to login via the http port for the time being. I've had a new Certificate created by following the instructions that VOUND provide within their documentation, but when I try to activate SSL I get the following error 'The private key password verification failed or the keystore does not contain private key.' So I go back to the certificates, and using Keytool I've changed the passwords for the keystore. When I've tried to change the password for the key 'mykey' I've been prompted with the following error 'keytool error: java.lang.Exception: Alias <REMOVED FOR SECURITY> has no key'. So I'm not sure what on earth is going on, I've googled this to death and I'm not getting anywhere, is this an issue with my Key, or something else? Any help is appreciated.

  10. Guys, I have an old case which has data that the client wants another client to have access to, but on a different system. I do not have the original drives the data came on as I've taken over the cases from an ex employee who wasn't great at archiving and storing material. Is there an easy way I can export all of the data for each individual exhibit onto a hard drive? Any help appreciated. Thanks.
  11. I do have Windows Defender installed, have added to the exclusion list. something very odd going on, I've uninstalled the software, reinstalled, installed an older version and still nothing. When I click OK, the edges of the button flash blue for a short period of time, but then does nothing.
  12. I've not used pro on this desktop in quite a while, but I've just updated it, checked the licence and know it's valid till next year, licence is upto date on the dongle, softwares upto date. The machine is running Windows 10, and I know Intella works on a Win 10 box as I've had it running on here previously. I'm trying to create a new case to replace one that appears to have corrupted, but am finding when I select Add, fill in all the details then click 'OK' nothing happens. I can click OK over and over again and still nothing happens. I've tried to run as administrator, still nothing. I've uninstalled Intella, rebooted, reinstalled, rebooted and still nothing... I am at the end of my tether today with this! If anyone knows of what it could be please help.
  13. I have a case file for hosted using Intella connect, the case is up and running, and the client have started reviewing this as of this morning. The case is a copy of another case and I've changed the unique reference etc so that it can be used with this customer. We have 4 other customers using the same data (well copies of), with no issue. When the client is in the preview screen and is scrolling through the results they find that the system will pause at around 8 or 9 records in, and then not load anything further. I have logged in to the system and tested this and have found that the delay is specific to this data set, I have tested this on other data sets and have encountered no issues. Does anyone have any idea as to what the issue could be, as I said this is only happening on this case, so maybe a data corruption issue, or something else?the customer is currently working on a rather large case, which means they will be tagging material etc, they can keep working but are having to use list view for the moment which is not ideal.   14. found the issue, thanks, it appears the folder that was exported was exported as EnCase parsed email files, I exported the raw data and re-ran and it worked.
  15. Thanks, I've tried it, but for some reason it's not reading the files or converting them, the file header reads 'AOLVM100'. the app appears to be AOL9. EnCase parses the data, and the messages, although it's been a manual process to get the data out.
  16. Adam, take a look at the 'raw' data, I had the same issue a while back and found that intella wasn't parsing/displaying some data within emails for some unknown reason. I found the hits within the 'raw' data.

I have a case where the client says he has emails, which were said to have been sent to another, we do not have any of the original emails, just an email address, using EnCase we can see some hits for the email addresses, although little or no email appears to have come back. I've processed the exhibit with Intella, but not had any hits, any advise in relation to how to process AOL files? I can see the data within EnCase, although it's not a simple or easy process to view the messages/emails. I'd like to be able to show/provide the client with any emails that match the search hits, without spending hours and hours on manually processing the data.
  18. Adam, I restored the customers data to data I had backed up a few days prior to the issue, so they didn't lose much. In relation to the backups I followed your advise Adam, and it works brilliantly. I just wanted to thank you personally, you are always so very helpful. You have saved me a great deal of time and stress, so a sincere thank you for your input on this matter, and previous matters. People like yourself are what make a community like this so great.   19. My client has contacted me and said she is getting the above error message one of the Intella hosted cases that we currently have. Error response code: 500 Please contact support if this error persists. I've had a look at the case file using Intella, and it appears to have lost all of the source data, i.e. it's asking me to add source data to the case. I have taken a backup so am going to copy that across, but this is very worrying, can I get someone at Intella to get back to me re the software losing settings, and maybe work out a way to do automatic backups of the critical system files for each case. I currently have around 8 on going cases being hosted by the Intella hosted platform. Thanks.

  21. Thanks, appears to be the issue, conversion would require me having access to the original laptop and doing it within the software. I'll try the email chemy software, thank you, does it convert only the messages, or attachments etc. as well within the folders?
  22. I've got a case where the clients have provided us with a Mac Book, the machine has outlook installed with thousands of messages, all of which are not being parsed by intella. I've manually extracted the data, but it's being seen as 'unknown binary file', any thoughts on how to get this material converted so that Intella can see the data. The files appear to be in the 'olk14Message' format, we do not have the original laptop to be able to convert within Outlook on the Mac. Any help appreciated. Thanks

  25. The client has given us a set of keywords to search for as they have had no success finding the records of interest. I've conducted a search for an email address using EnCase and have had hits within the priv1.edb file for the records. The same can not be said for the same data within Intella, the same data has been processed, but when I search for the email address we are not seeing the same results. Is Intella not parsing data correctly, is it not showing raw data possibly?
